OCI Solar Power and Mission Solar Energy help support first National Night Out at Brooks
SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 4, 2017) – OCI Solar Power (OCISP) along with its sister company, Mission Solar Energy (MSE), joined forces to sponsor the first National Night Out (NNO) at Brooks on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
“As we develop the Brooks campus, it’s imperative all those living, working, learning, and playing here are involved and excited about the growth,” said Connie Gonzalez, Brooks Director of Public Relations. “We’re not just building structures, we’re building a community. The camaraderie between our marquee employers, students and residents proves we’re a blossoming region of San Antonio.”
“OCI has been part of the Brooks family since early this summer, and we were excited to be part of this community event,” said Charles Kim, President and CEO. “The safety of residents and, in turn, all our employees who work in this area is of utmost concern so events like this help us know each other better.”
Representatives from OCISP and MSE were on hand to distribute information about each respective company while also providing some icy interaction. Guests were encouraged to hurl handfuls of ice toward a solar panel that was on display. Anyone who hit the actual target in the center, won a prize, but most of all they learned just how robust MSE’s solar panels are.
More than 500 people attended the Brooks event, which was one of dozens in the City. Traditionally, millions of Americans take part in similar celebrations across the nation to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie” which can lead to safer, more caring communities, according to the NNO website.
